Senate Voted to Pass SS Fairness Act!

In a historic 76 to 20 vote, the US Senate has voted to pass the Social Security Fairness Act, which repeals the harmful WEP/GPO provisions of social security.  The bill, which has cleared both branches of Congress, is now on its way to President Biden’s desk, who is expected to sign it.

“I have been working on the passage of this bill for over 30 years,” stated NAGE National President David J. Holway. “I am incredibly glad that the long-term fight was successful in passing the House and Senate.”

Thank you to all NAGE members and their families who took the time to reach out to members of Congress over the last several weeks. Your voices helped make a difference in delivering this very consequential and decisive victory for public employees in Massachusetts, and around the country.

Stay tuned for an update once the President takes action on the bill.  Thank you and happy holidays!
