Joseph Gentile has been protecting his community as a police officer in Springfield, MA for over 21 years. Married to his wife Pamela for the past 15 years, they have three children, Gabriella, Abbey and Joseph.
He began his union career as a steward for IBPO Local 364. Gentile then moved on to be vice president of the local for four years, and has now been president of the local for six years. He is running unopposed for a fourth, two year term May 2015.
“NAGE and NAGE Charities were there for more than a dozen members who were victims of a tornado in 2011,” said Gentile. “We can always count on NAGE to back us when we need them the most.”
You will sometimes hear NAGE referred to as SEIU Local 5000. NAGE affiliated with SEIU in 1982 to become part of the largest and fastest-growing union in North America, with more than 2 million members.
