Susan Anderson works for the Martinsburg, VA Medical Center. She became involved with NAGE in 1994 over a workplace issue and became steward shortly after. She then became vice president of her local in 1996 and president in 1999. Her position of record is Program Support Assistant.
Anderson has been married for 45 years and has three children and two grandchildren. Reading is her relaxation and stress reliever as well as having fun with her family.
“I am proud that I have been there for hundreds of employees and veterans over the past twenty years,” said Anderson. “We helped keep many of them employed and helped them through rough times, which we couldn’t be happier about.”
You will sometimes hear NAGE referred to as SEIU Local 5000. NAGE affiliated with SEIU in 1982 to become part of the largest and fastest-growing union in North America, with more than 2 million members.
