NAGE supports the strong commitment of its leaders, staff and members to the highest ethical standards in all their dealings on behalf of the membership. An ethical culture is an essential part of NAGE's identity and its mission of justice for all.

In June 2009, SEIU's International Executive Board adopted a wide range of ethics policies and practices, including an SEIU Code of Ethical Practices and Conflict of Interest Policy ("Code"). As a local of SEIU, NAGE and all of its locals are bound by the Code.

SEIU also requires each local union  to appoint an Ethics Liaison. General Counsel Sarah Suszczyk (ssuszczyk@nage.org or (703) 519-0300) is the Ethics Liaison for NAGE. She is your point of contact for questions and concerns about ethics and the Code.

Ethics inquiries can also be directed to Kimberly Sanchez, the SEIU Ethics Ombudsperson, at kimberly.sanchez@seiu.org or at (202) 350-6571.

Given the moral purpose of our mission, NAGE leaders owe members the highest level of ethical behavior in the exercise of all leadership decisions and financial dealings on members' behalf.
We can either have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few; but we can't have both. - Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis
