TPL Team to Offer Counterproposal to Administration
October 2, 2007
NAGE will be meeting with the Administration on Friday, October 5, to present our counterproposal for underlying grades and titles. We drafted our counterproposal based on the responses we received from members who completed the online TPL questionnaire. Members of our TPL team will take part in the negotiating session. We will continue to keep you informed about our progress with the Administration.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why is the Commonwealth establishing “underlying” positions?
The purpose of creating “underlying positions” is to establish a salary floor, below which a TPL employee cannot be paid. In other words, it will guarantee that your salary will never fall below a certain level. For example, if it’s determined that the salary attached to your “underlying position” is $65,000, you can never be paid less than that amount. If you’re currently making less than that, you will receive a salary increase; but, if you’re currently making more than that, your salary will stay the same—it will not be lowered.
- Are we still going to receive our regular annual pay raises?
Yes. The negotiations regarding underlying positions are completely separate and distinct from the regular pay raises you receive each year. You will receive those pay raises again this year, retroactive to July 1st. As soon as we have information about when those raises will be implemented, we will post that information here.
- I filled out the questionnaire, but no one got back to me. What should I do?
Because we received more than 300 questionnaires, we cannot respond to individual questions. If you asked a question on the questionnaire, and it requires an immediate response, please send an email to tpl@nage.org.
