State Responds to NAGE Request for Mileage Reimbursement Increase

May 7, 2012

NAGE local presidents last month wrote a letter to Administration and Finance Secretary Jay Gonzalez requesting an increase in the mileage reimbursement rate for employees who use their personal vehicles for state business. NAGE asked the state to increase the reimbursement rate to the IRS level of 55.5 cents per mile, from the current state level of 45 cents.

Employee relations director Mark D'Angelo responded to NAGE's request, stating that the adminstration was, "currently reviewing the mileage reimbursement rate to ensure that it's set at a level that is appropriate and responsive to the needs of state employees and state government in general." The letter went on to say that the Commonwealth would contact NAGE in the event that it "concludes that an adjustment in the rate is appropriate."
