NAGE is deeply saddened to hear of the death of union brother Robert "Bob" McHugh, on Saturday, at age 53. Bob was a longtime member of SEIU Local 509 and a beloved friend and respected colleague of so many members of NAGE.
Bob was an investigator with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.
"We worked together on a number of issues and his loss is devastating to me and everyone who knew and worked with him," said Theresa McGoldrick, president of Unit 6, Local 207.
Bob also worked closely with officers of the COPS chapter of NAGE (Local R1-75).
"Over the last 8 years or so, Bob helped us with collective bargaining issues important to public safety officers," said Local R1-75 President Bob Cutting. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the McHugh family during this very difficult time."
Bob is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jean (Sterczala); and his three sons, John, Steven, and Scott.
A scholarship fund has been established for Bob's children:
