Trial Court Bargaining Bulletin: No Movement At The Table … Means We Move At Work!

October 4, 2007

Mediation on Wednesday, October 3 was disappointing. While your committee protected the integrity of our position, we floated multiple solutions that could lead to settlement. Management refused to move one inch to resolve the dispute.

The session broke off when the mediator indicated that further discussion was pointless that day. We are scheduled to meet again on October 16, pending a further discussion between the mediator and management.

A Hearing Problem?
Clearly, management is not listening and Judge Mulligan is not paying attention to your overwhelming rejection of their proposal in July. We have worked hard to keep this conflict at the court, not in public, and to be firm but dignified in our approach. They are still not paying attention.

It is not in our interest to bargain against ourselves. We need to take the next step to get on their radar.

All Out for Worcester—October 16
The union will hold a rally/press conference at the new Courthouse in Worcester at 4 PM on October 16 to coincide with the dedication of the building. We will send a strong message about showing respect, ensuring public safety and ending favoritism at the Trial Court.

Please plan to be there! More details to follow.
