Thank You for Calling Reps on Health Insurance— Now It’s Time to Call Your Senators!

Thank you to all the NAGE Trial Court members who called their state representatives during the House budget debate. The NAGE lobbying team said that your calls were instrumental in our efforts to stop the implementation of 70/30 health insurance in the House budget. Although the House budget did finally include an increase to 80/20 for all state and Trial Court employees, the increase was significantly smaller than it would have been without your pressure on your representatives.
Now it’s time to do the same to the Senate. The Senate’s FY2010 budget proposal, released on May 13, calls for an increase in employee health insurance premium costs to 70/30. Debate begins in the Senate on Monday, May 18. NAGE is lobbying members of the Senate as aggressively as we did House members to support amendments to keep your health insurance costs as low as possible.
