Carol Soldi-Hall has worked as a judicial marshal providing court security in Connecticut for 15 years. She is now a sergeant in Rockville.

When she became involved in the union as a district vice president, the members in her area needed someone to stand up for them. She became statewide secretary of IBPO Local 731 in 2006 and has been vice president since 2008.

“We fight the judicial branch a lot more than the other unions do, and it’s made a big difference,” said Soldi-Hall. “We were the only department to get shifts by seniority, which might not sound like much, but the judicial branch doesn’t like to give up control of anything. We’ve gotten better contracts in a short time than any other union has in ages by sticking together and fighting hard.”

Carol and her husband have three children and two grandchildren. They DJ parties locally in their off-hours and spend as much time as they can in the warm weather on their boat.
