Theresa McGoldrick is national executive vice president of NAGE. She’s also president of Unit 6, Local 207, representing professional employees in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She began her career as an attorney for the state’s Department of Revenue Child Support Enforcement division.
“I love being part of the labor movement, standing up for what is right and just and helping others. It is a great job and I am lucky to be part of the NAGE family. “
Another way Theresa stands up for public workers is through her position on the state’s retirement board and Pension Reserves Investment Board, to which she was elected in 2004. The PRIM board chooses how to invest billions of dollars of retirees’ savings.
Theresa and her husband, Tim, live in Watertown, Massachusetts, where Tim is “number one soccer coach” to their daughter, Emma, and son, Matthew, and Theresa is “number one fan. “
You will sometimes hear NAGE referred to as SEIU Local 5000. NAGE affiliated with SEIU in 1982 to become part of the largest and fastest-growing union in North America, with more than 2 million members.
