Antonio Reed, Sr. was born and raised in Washington, DC. For 23 years Antonio worked for the district government, 15 of those years with the Metropolitan Police Department. Antonio's first position with the union was as shop steward, a position he assumed shortly after joining the MPD. He worked his way up through the ranks, from shop steward to Executive Vice President, and in 2010 NAGE National President, David Holway appointed Antonio President of his local.

As president, Antonio helped ratify the Compensation Bargaining Agreement, effective April 1, 2013 through September 30 2017 that helped secure a 12% cost of living raise over a four year period.

In 2014, Antonio was selected to serve on the NAGE National Executive Board. “I strive to fulfill my goals of uniting and mobilizing members,” said Reed. “I continue to seek increases in salaries and benefits, improve working conditions, save jobs, protect member’s rights, and ensure fair opportunities for NAGE members."

Reed is a sports fanatic. He coaches and mentors those in the community and exhibits the same passion when encouraging members to be their best selves through the promotion of continuing education and mental health support.
