IBPO Local 623 Officers Save Passengers from Inferno

IBPO Local 623 members Derek Daniel and Andre Valentine, along with other Atlanta PD Officers, saved two people from a car engulfed in flames on September 20, 2017.

The vehicle hit the highway barricade on I-85 in Atlanta, early on Wednesday morning.  The car burst into flames shortly after the officers arrived on the scene.  The officers quickly smashed out the car windows with their own fire extinguishers, and worked to keep the blaze under control.  The fire department arrived soon after and had to pry the car apart to get the passengers out.  It has been reported that the two saved from the car are in critical condition at a local Atlanta hospital.

We would like to commend these brave officers for their swift actions in the face of danger.
