IAEP Stands with Local 95 in Honoring Loss of Paramedic John Lynch

On December 5, 2016, Worcester EMS regretfully announced the death of Paramedic John F. Lynch, a longtime EMS professional and member IAEP Local 95. Lynch was fiercely dedicated to the community of Worcester, and began serving as an EMT in that area in 1976.

Lynch served on the Critical Incedent Stress Management Team, which he described of “responders helping responders” cope with experiences on-duty. He served on the Regional DMAT team and was an EMT and paramedic examiner for the state of Massachusetts. The former president of the Auburn Youth and Family Services also served on the board of directors of You Inc., a non-profit organization that has been serving at-risk children, adolescents, and families in the Worcester area since 1971.

“In retirement, his passion was teaching and mentoring students how to save lives. John was a dedicated Union brother and will be remembered as a mentor to future EMTs and Paramedics,” as stated in an obituary posted by

The IAEP wishes to offer condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Lynch, and to the local EMS community for their loss of an iconic mentor and leader. The great impact Mr. Lynch made on his community will long be remembered. 


Visiting hours are Thursday, December 8, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at The Callahan-Fay Funeral Home located at 61 Myrtle St in Worcester, Ma. The funeral service will be on Friday, December 9, at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home at 61 Myrtle Street with a Mass at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
