2023 Jax Memorial Scholarship - Apply Now!

The 2023 JAX Memorial Scholarship application is now open!

Richard “Jax” Jaquez was a member of the U.S. Army in the 10th Mountain Division as an infantryman.  He was a member of the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office since 2008 where he instantly became family to so many of his co-workers.  Jax loved coming to work and love the people he worked with.  He was the definition of fair, firm, and consistent.  Unfortunately, we lost him in February of 2020.  It was an extremely hard hit for his family, friends, and co-workers.  In keeping his memory alive we have developed the “Jax Memorial Scholarship.”

In continuing our commitment to helping members, their families and Berkshire County students achieve their educational goals and dreams, Richard “JAX” Jaquez IBCO Local RI 297 Memorial Educational Fund with being handing out is second set of scholarships in the spring of 2023.

Each year, two scholarships will be awarded to an applicant that meet the qualifications (See application for requirements). Scholarships will be awarded without regard to the sex, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, or disability of any applicant.

In order to be considered scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than April 14, 2023. The Scholarship winners will be chosen in a random drawing in the first week of May 2023.

Please feel free to distribute these applications to your graduating seniors.
