SEIU Stewards Assembly
Close to 200 stewards from NAGE, SEIU Local 888, and SEIU Local 509 attended this SEIU Stewards Assembly. The event was held at the SEIU 1199 hall in Dorchester, Mass.

NAGE Leaders Attend Contract Signing Ceremony
National President David J. Holway and NAGE local leaders attended a ceremony at the Massachusetts State House for the signing of the contract for Units 1, 3, and 6. The ceremony took place in the executive office, with Governor Deval Patrick on hand to sign the documents and meet with leaders. The governor thanked the union and all state employees who do the daily business of the Commonwealth with dignity, dedication, and high professionalism.

Trial Court Informational Picket
Over 100 NAGE Trial Court members and supporters, including NAGE staff, Worcester police officers from IBPO Locals 378 and 504, members of OPEIU Local 6, and Teamsters, walked in an informational picket outside the new Worcester Courthouse yesterday during the dedication of the new building. The Trial Court employees represented by both NAGE and OPEIU are struggling to negotiate fair contracts with the management team representing Judge Robert A. Mulligan, the chief justice for administration and management.

Member Political Action Conference
Members from around the country attended the Member Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. Attendees heard from presidential candidates: Senator Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.); Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois); Governor Bill Richardson; Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY); and Senator John Edwards (D-South Carolina). The following day, they lobbied their congressmen and congresswoman and senators on issues such as health care and labor law reform.
