SEIU/NAGE members as well as some SEIU members from Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee worked hard to try to get Jim Martin elected as senator in Georgia and to turn out the vote! Even though Martin lost the election, we are proud of the work we did to get people out to vote.
From canvassing neighborhoods to member-to-member phone banking to leafleting subway stations to creating excitement and visibility at shopping malls, SEIU/NAGE members were involved in trying to continue the campaign for change in Georgia. We did not let the unusually cold, rainy weather deter us.
In Atlanta, Macon, Milledgeville and Augusta, SEIU/NAGE members gave up some of their holiday time to support Jim Martin as well as President-Elect Obama’s agenda for change.
We will win the next time if we keep up the good efforts we have started!
