Plans for New Regional Offices Moving Forward

Big changes have occurred at 581 Simpson Street, N.W.

NAGE and IBPO are proud to announce that the unsightly building that used to house our Atlanta-area staff has been demolished to make room for our new union offices.

The National Executive Board earlier voted to approve the financing and construction of a new regional office in Atlanta.

If you ever had to conduct business at the old office, you know how urgent the need is for this new building. The old building was quite literally falling apart, and it had mold, pest, and other environmental issues that could not be resolved. Our members and the staff who work for them deserve a safe and healthy environment to work in and visit.

As you can see in the drawings (links available below) the new offices will be a two-story brick and glass building that was professionally designed by an Atlanta architect.

The new building will provide offices for staff and comfortable meeting space for locals and members. We believe this will encourage more members to get involved in the union and allow us to provide even better services to our members.

In addition, we are incorporating a community room that will be available for use by neighborhood groups. We have always believed in and adhered to a “good neighbor” philosophy, and this room will show our continued commitment to our neighbors and the citizens of Atlanta. Because of our civic commitment, the City of Atlanta may be providing considerable funding for some of the building construction costs.

We look forward to seeing you in the new regional offices soon!
