A number of NAGE members at Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta recently collaborated on a paper addressing the direction of mental health care in Georgia. The paper, which is linked to below, was submitted July 10, 2009, to Dr. Frank Shelp, the state's new Commissioner of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities in Georgia, as well as to the Carter Center Mental Health Program.
The paper asks the commissioner and the Carter Center program to consider the recommendations of the committee, called “Voices of Concern.” The committed includes employees in the mental health care field and some concerned consumers of mental health services and their family members.
