R-Con employees at Moody AFB Have Closed Shop
In April, landscaping employees at Moody AFB changed employers when R-Con Construction, Inc and Maintenance Engineers took over the contract to service Moody Air Force Base.
We have had our union at Moody AFB for years and we worried what would happen if the new contractor refused to recognize our union or work with us as union members. We knew that when we stand together and take action that we are stronger. So, for the first time, all employees joined the union. We stood together and the company signed our recognition agreement giving us a closed shop!
“I feel good about the progress we have made. We all just need to stick together and continue to work together to address problems on the job,” said Terence Miller, Moody AFB shop steward.
R-Con has been willing to work with us on any of our concerns or issues. So far, we have been able to resolve any conflicts. Hopefully, in the future, we can continue that good relationship.
