NAGE Joins Forces with Federal Unions in New Federal Workers Alliance

January 12, 2010

WASHINGTON, DC—The National Association of Government Employees announced today that it has become a founding partner in the new Federal Workers Alliance, which is expected to build on the successes achieved by the United DoD Workers Coalition (UDWC). The new FWA, founded by over 20 labor organizations, will represent more than 300,000 federal workers from hundreds of federal agencies.

“This alliance will extend the reach and raise up the voices of hundreds of thousands of hardworking federal employees across this nation—from the DoD to the VA to the Parks Service to the DoT,” said National President David J. Holway. “It’s a testament to the growing strength of the labor movement that we can bring together so many organizations for the singular purpose of improving the lives of the women and men who have devoted their careers to public service.” Press release
