NAGE, UDWC Send Letter about Defense Auhtorization bill to Armed Services Committee Chairs

NAGE and other members of the United DoD Workers Coalition have sent a letter to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin and House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton, thanking them for their support of language in the Defense Authorization bill (H.R. 1585) that amends NSPS provision.
President Bush vetoed the bill over a single issue, Section 1083.
The letter further asks committee members to rectify the issue of Section 1083 while not harming the amendments to NSPS in the bill. In addition, they ask that the 3.5% raise for military personnel be preserved in the bill, along with a retroactive payment of the raise.
