Federal Register: Federal Rulemaking

The Federal Register, the "daily newspaper" of the Federal government, is published by 6 a.m. each and every Federal work day. Federal agencies are required to publish notices of proposed rulemaking in the Federal Register, allowing any person or organization to comment on it, either in writing, or orally at a hearing. The comment period varies, but it usually is 30, 60, or 90 days. When agencies publish final regulations in the Federal Register, they must address the significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made in response to them.

NAGE is committed to providing our members with as much information as possible on the issues that affect them. While NAGE will provide official comment on proposed rules, it's very important that we hear from you about your opinions and comments. We encourage you to make your voice heard! Information for providing comments is included in each "Proposed Rule Explained" document.
