The Walk to Cure Cancer will celebrate its 9th anniversary this year with the hugely successful walk stepping off at noon on Sunday, September 23, 2007. Registration for the walk runs from 10 a.m. to noon.
The walk begins and ends at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester. The course is a five-mile loop (or one-mile option, so no excuses!) around beautiful Lake Quinsigamond.
This is the fourth year NAGE has participated as a flagship sponsor (making annual donations of $25,000), and each year, the number of members, staff, family, and friends walking with us has increased. We expect this year to be the highest turnout ever.
NAGE will be holding a fundraiser/kickoff party on Friday, September 14, 2007 beginning at 6 p.m. The event will take place at the waterfront Seaport Bar & Grill (150 Northern Avenue in Boston). We will have appetizers, music, door prizes and a raffle, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Walk to Cure Cancer.
If you would like to join us in the walk, just show up with your walking shoes on! We will have a tent set up so that our NAGE team is easy to find. All NAGE participants (and their family and friends who walk) will receive a NAGE “Walk to Cure Cancer” T-shirt.
If you cannot attend the walk or the fundraiser, but you would like to help scientists find the cure, you can easily make a donation right online at www.firstgiving.org/nage.
